A Simple Crowd Pleasing Appetizer: Bacon Wrapped Smokies

We love the simplicity as well as the taste of these bacon wrapped smokies sprinkled with brown sugar!

I am always looking for super simple appetizers that I can bring to parties or serve at the parties I throw. When I first made these bacon wrapped smokies I knew I had a winner on my hands. Every time I make these they quickly disappear leaving me wishing that I had made even more of them. Best of all this app only requires 3 simple ingredients, bacon, lil smokies, and brown sugar. With that combo of ingredients you really can't go wrong! I found this bacon wrapped smokies recipe on AllRecipes.com originally. Here are the details.

1 package of bacon

1 (16 ounce) package of little smokies sausages

1 cup of brown sugar

Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F

Take out a cookie sheet or a glass baking dish. Make sure the cookie sheet has a rim, because when these smokies bake there will be grease and you don't want that spilling over. Also be sure to cover your cookie sheet in aluminum foil. It will just make the clean up process that much easier.

Cut the bacon strips into thirds. Wrap one of the thirds around the little smokies sausage link and use a toothpick to keep it together. Do this for each of the links.

Once you have the smokies all laid out on your tray or baking dish pinch the brown sugar and sprinkle it over each one of the smokies. I personally like to use the brown sugar liberally especially since some of it will fall off the smokies when you sprinkle it on.

Bake it until the bacon gets cooked and crispy and the brown sugar melts.
