Blistered Shishito Peppers
You’ll find a variation of this blistered Shishito Pepper Recipe at all manner of high end Asian restaurants – they are always a crowd pleaser and seem really exotic. The thing about them is that they are incredibly quick to make, and scale up or down to group size really easily. All you need are: 5 ingredients, 5 minutes, and a fry pan. Follow these simple steps and you’ll be impressing your friends in no time.
What you'll need:
- Sesame oil or olive oil.
- Low sodium soy sauce.
- Red chili pepper flake.
- Shishito peppers (4-6 per person).
- Salt & Pepper
What you'll do:
1.) Coat the base of your pan with oil and heat to just shy of smoking.
2.) Add 1 tablespoon of Chili pepper flake per 2 people eating the dish.
3.)Throw in the washed peppers, 4-6 peppers per person eating.
4.) Blister them until they look like the picture.
5.) Turn off the heat and toss in the pan with soy sauce.
6.) Place in serving bowl and salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately and enjoy them hot.
